TRADITIONAL METHODS ARE FAILING /
HOW THE ALEXANDER READING METHOD FILLS THE GAP:

We are proud to say we are aligned with SOR, the Science of Reading!
For many years we have used phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension to ensure children receive the necessary foundational literacy skills to keep up and stay ahead in the early grades. This allows children to be prepared for the later grades as well. The best part?  We are believers in play-based learning!

Our littlest students ones enjoy activities that focus on fine motor and pre reading skills, and once children graduate from our program, they are ready to take on the more advanced skills taught in later grades.

Research shows, and most teachers know, that if a child isn't reading well by second grade, the chances of struggling in school in the later grades are up by 90%. And yet, the way the reading curriculums are structured, even in the most academic, expensive private schools, children are not set up for success.

Unfortunately even schools that have the best of intentions, still are not understanding that by waiting to teaching reading in  Kindergarten, not teaching the correct information in Kindergarten, families skipping  2-3 months during summer breaks, and, children being expected to learn an incredible amount of information in First & Second Grades, these all play a part in why children fall behind.

The Alexander Reading Method program is methodically planned out to cover important foundation skills all year round during the  PreK, kindergarten and 1st grade ages, in order to prepare for later expectations in schools.

PLAY-BASED LEARNING AT AN EARLY AGE:
We learn what each child enjoys and do our best to incorporate that into the program for an enjoyable learning experience.

Our letter products were purposefully designed to be fun and entertaining for faster retention, and our books that teach the foundational skills use color coding and large font to encourage young learners to not feel overwhelmed.

When children are set up to learn to read at an early age, especially through play, they can enjoy learning, have a greater general knowledge, expand their vocabulary, and become more fluent readers.
They also have improved attention spans and better concentration.

Additionally, their proficiency in reading enables them to comprehend more of what they are reading when the 2nd and later grades hit and children are expected to be fluent readers to move into becoming great writers.

Most importantly, they feel confident!
CONFIDENCE IS EVERYTHING.
