Ages 6.5 -7.5
The Alexander Reading Method:
Children move through our Level 4 - long vs. short vowel push, are able to read simple chapter books, and are focused on writing simple sentences. Our final Level 5 teaches suffixes, compound words, and contractions. We move to reading chapter books for strong fluency and comprehension skills.
Traditional Method:

short and long vowels
sight words
While phonics skills are taught, because children were not given proper building blocks in pre-k and K to be able to retain the amount of information taught in this grade this is where 30-40% of parents receive calls about their children being behind. Low confidence starts to creep in.
